Ann Schulte, Managing Director, Commercial Strategy, Red Team Associates
Ann is a long-term thinker who applies her talents to the fields of health care, economics, and behavior, bringing expertise in medical devices and payer priorities. She is affiliated with Red Team Associates, an asset-focused life science consulting firm that helps clients achieve financial and commercial success with both new and existing marketed products.
Previously, Ann was a Senior Director at St. Jude Medical, where she managed Global Market Intelligence, consolidating multiple market research and analysis teams into one consistent practice and launching a Competitive and Market Intelligence program to leverage existing intelligence infrastructures and facilitate information sharing. She spent five years as Director of Strategy & Business Development for the Structural Heart business of Medtronic, leading strategic planning, market analysis, competitive intelligence, and white space analyses. Her responsibilities also included producing and hosting a series of Executive Forums to improve employee understanding and engagement across the business, as well as coaching cross-functional leadership development programs and mentoring MBA hires in Medtronic's Leadership Development Rotation Program (LDRP).
Ann's initial foray into life sciences and healthcare services was as an equity investment analyst for Twin Cities based mutual fund and insurance companies. She contributed to top quartile returns for over 10 years, marketed to clients, prospects, and consultants, and became known for being a quick study who asked good (and difficult) questions of both analysts and management teams.
Ann serves on the Finance & Investment Committees of the Schubert Club and the Arts Partnership, both located in St. Paul. She earned an MBA at the University of Minnesota, a baccalaureate in Accounting from SUNY at Buffalo, holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, and has successfully completed the CPA examination.
